Privacy policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
The short version: this website doesn't use cookies or tracking. If you email or call me, I use your details to reply, quote and build your site, and that's it. I never sell your info.
Who I am
Carrick Digital is run by Sam Murray, a sole trader based in Ayr, South Ayrshire. I'm responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach me at carrickdigital.ayr@gmail.com.
What I collect
- Your name, email address and phone number when you get in touch
- Details about your business that you send me for your website (text, prices, photos, logos)
- Payment and invoice records if you become a client
Why I use it
- To reply to you and give you a quote
- To build, launch and update your website (as part of our agreement)
- To keep invoices and records that the law requires for tax
I won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing unless you ask me to.
Who else sees it
I only use trusted services I need to run the business:
- Google (Gmail) for email
- Website hosting (such as Netlify or Cloudflare) to put sites online
I never sell or share your information with anyone else, unless the law requires it.
This website
This site doesn't set cookies and doesn't use analytics or tracking. Its fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google can see your IP address when the page loads. Your hosting provider may also keep standard server logs for security.
How long I keep it
If you get in touch but don't become a client, I delete your messages within 12 months. If you're a client, I keep your details while I'm working with you, and keep invoices for as long as UK tax rules require.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask me to:
- Show you what information I hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your information (unless I have to keep it for tax)
- Stop using it for a particular purpose
Just email carrickdigital.ayr@gmail.com. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
